지난 4월 25일 오후 3시에 알링턴 교구 Bishop O’Connell High School에서 2026년 BASH가 열렸습니다. 교구 소속 70여개 성당의 1,400명 넘는 학생들이 함께 했으며, 본당에서는 보좌 신부님, 8명의 선생님들과 31명의 중등부 학생들 (6,7,8학년)이 참가하여 주교님 주례 미사와 행사, 공연, 액티비티 등으로 즐겁고 은총 가득한 시간을 가졌습니다.

As a first-time attendee, I understood the program to be an opportunity for middle schoolers to grow closer to God while building meaningful connections with their peers through engaging and purposeful activities.

Bash was very fun. There were a lot of rides, food, and fun. The talk with Rachel got me to think deeply and think, "Why do we have our Catholic faith?" The Mass with the bishop felt like I was eyelash to eyelash with God. It felt like God was sitting right next to me. I felt different somehow.

For Francis, he especially enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with Bishop Michael F. Burbidge. He even asked if the Bishop remembered him serving Mass at St. Paul Chung, and he received a blessing on his necklace, which made the experience even more special for him.

I have been looking forward to BASH all week because it is always so much fun and full of energy. At the same time, it is very spiritually meaningful. During the event, I felt closer to God, especially through the different activities , and prayer, and being surrounded by other students who share the same faith.
